Sleeping in on a Sunday is great. It’s probably the best feeling in the world! Sitting in bed all day, ditching the whole world while you watch your favourite episodes over and over again.
And I do that a lot … Just not when something cool is happening nearby.

I heard about this group on Facebook called Paint Up, and so I did some snooping around. Turns out ‘Beautifying Naba’a’ is a project to help the Lebanese and Syrian youth share their aspirations in a nonviolent self-expression.
I was stunned. They sound amazing!
They organized a series of conferences with several local artists and teach young talents new painting techniques, teaching them a positive form of communication. The conclusion of these conferences are a final event where families, groups of children, musicians, artists and volunteers all gather together at the local park on a sunny Sunday!

That was a lot to take in. I was waiting for the unexpected, and I’m sure that, if you’ve never been, you wouldn’t have imagined an event like this.
I got there with my skateboard in one hand and my camera in another, and followed the sound of music playing until I finally reached the public garden.

Paint was being distributed by Dihzahyners, a team of artists that founded Paint Up! with the initiative to make Beirut brighter and more colorful.
I’ll let you enjoy the rest of the pictures, and maybe you’ll join us next time!
